Migration questions.
Will migrating the store cause a loss of Google rankings?
With a properly executed migration — no. The key is full URL mapping and implementing 301 redirects for EVERY page of the old store. We monitor rankings for 30 days after migration and respond quickly to any drop. In our past migrations, clients maintained or improved their positions within 60 days.
How long does a store migration take?
Simple migrations (Wix/Squarespace): 3–5 weeks. Medium (PrestaShop, WooCommerce): 6–10 weeks. Complex (Magento, multi-store, 10K+ SKUs): 10–20 weeks. Time depends on: number of products, catalog complexity, number of integrations to rewrite and scope of custom development for the new store.
Will the store operate during migration?
Yes — we work on a parallel run basis. The old store operates normally while we build the new one. DNS change (switching to the new store) takes 15 minutes and happens at night during low traffic. The old store remains available as a backup for 30 days after migration.
What happens to product reviews and ratings?
We migrate reviews if the new platform supports them and the old one allows export. Shopify + Okendo/Yotpo/Judge.me: yes. WooCommerce: yes (native reviews). If full migration isn't possible — we export to CSV as an archive and import using a dedicated app.
